Flower lab was a multi-sensory two-day workshop intertwining photography, perfumery and taste inspired by flowers. Beyond just being beautyful to look at, flowers can be touched, sculpted, smelled and eaten, making them a theme, a subject and a material all at once, transcending any single artistic discipline. Through hands-on making we explored how these living forms can inspire creative expression, while also giving playful glimpse into our own artistic practices.
Perfume Lab / June 6 2025
Guided by scent artist Alina Grinpauka, participants co-created a floral accord built around orange blossom.
Each participant then crafted their own interpretation — a personal fragrance drawn from sensory memory and intuition.
A study in bloom, scent, and transformation.
To complete the experience, Cooking by the River created a taste memory - a sensorial surprise echoing the floral theme. A small, edible story unfolded on our tongues, turning scent into flavor, and lab into ritual.
Flower Scan Studio / June 7 2025
Together with photographer Julia Sinka, participants explored a curated field of blooms — scanning petals, veins, and shadows in luminous detail.
A quiet study on light, form, and feeling.
Both workshops were designed to complement and enrich the other, offering a layered sensory experience—yet both could be enjoyed independently.
